Rain, Hail, and a Tankard of Ale

In the forest of Ravenwood, the brave folk that make their home there take pride in their unquenchable tenacity. To explore what has not been explored, to seek out what has never been found, to vanquish the unvanquishable. To overcome every obstacle, and to outdo themselves at every opportunity.

Unfortunately, the weather in Ravenwood has a very similar philosophy. For those that have never seen Ravenwood weather, perhaps hail in August would seem a surprise. In Ravenwood, however, we take what we can get and we improvise!

This all to say that, for what time the weather permitted, Ravenwood Battle Games 2020 was a delight and an amazing opportunity to regroup out friends in a strange and tempestuous year! Even in conversations and anecdotes shared under pavilions as torrential rain downpoured, we managed to get to know new friends and reacquaint ourselves with old ones. Before the downpour began, we were able to get in a Team Death Match and several rounds of our Cornucopia Challenge- certainly whetting our appetites for more battle and camaraderie! Though a deluge can prevent a rope-pull rematch, an archery contest, and the many other activities we were unable to experience, it cannot prevent us from enjoying the company of our friends and fellow LARPers.

It was a joy and privilege to see to you all, and we hope to see you all again soon on September 12th!

Adventure awaits…

  1. Well said. Huzzah!
And even after the official cancellation of the remaining games, there were many who tested their mettle one on one, and in an hour-long tournament of capture the flag!
